Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
When do you use septic tanks? How do they work?
In places where there is no municipal sewer system, septic tanks are used to dispose of waste materials instead. Typically, the tank holds between 1,000 and 1,500 gallons. Heavier solid waste settles toward the bottom of the tank, and lighter waste, such as grease and oil, sits on top of it. Wastewater flows through the tank into a drainfield. Filters are installed to prevent waste material from infiltrating the drainfield. Having your septic tank regularly pumped is very important.
How do I know my tank is full?
Septic tanks should be pumped every three to five years. Signs such as bubbling toilets, slow drains, and backups will tell you when the tank is full.
How can I tell that my drainfield is bad?
Waste may begin backing up into your yard since the septic tank can’t properly drain.
What is a video inspection?
Video inspections are performed to discover breaks in your water or sewer lines, as well as tree root intrusions that are causing clogs.
What if my area gets a new sewer system?
Once the system is up and running, your septic tank is no longer needed. We’d be happy to connect your residential or commercial property to the main sewer line.
What do I need to connect to the sewer system?
First, you’ll need to secure any necessary permits. Then, you’ll need a pump, crush, and fill tank. The property owner is responsible for any blocked sewer lines coming directly from the property.
Where can we help?
We use hydro jetting services to clear clogs. We’d also be happy to inspect your septic system if you’re buying or selling a property.
